how my refridgerator controls it’s freezer temperature independently and seperately from the actual Fridge Compartment?

I am currently having a problem where my fridge is cooling the freezer but not the fridge portion.

The freezer gets cold and a door lets cold move down into the fridge. The temperature adjustment changes some combination of how cold the freezer is and how open the door is. If your fridge doesn’t get cold either an ice buildup or food is blocking the passageways that carry cold from the freezer downward. Or something else related to that is jammed up.
