How My Vitamin Water Zero Turned To Goo

So earlier I threw a few vitamin water zeros into my freezer just to cool them down quickly, and it seems I had left them in a little too long. I removed them from the freezer, felt the sides of them (still liquid consistency), but when I twisted the cap off of one, it immediately turned to a goo-like substance on the inside. Why?

You’re vitamin water was probably colder than the freezing temperature while still a liquid. This is possible and when it happens it’s called a super cooled liquid. When disturbed it will begin to freeze. Check out videos of supercooled water on YouTube. When they shake the bottles it freezes instantly like magic. Your drink probably contained something that prevented it from freezing solid and instead formed a slushie consistency.
