It seems paradox when I read about e.g. LSD or Magic Mushrooms and it says on one side they can be used to treat mental illnesses but on the other side you have to be in a ‘healthy’ state of mind

Psychedelics like mushrooms mimic the structure of serotonin. In nature, this allows the plant carrying the mushrooms from being completely eaten as it makes the consumer feel full.

In the case of depressed people, psychedelics act like serotonin, the endorphin that depressed people lack. Now, it should be a one two combo, as depression also affects your dopamine levels (dopamine is responsible for you getting work done).
