As in how can a person recover from a heart attack without help? How does the body just ‘bounce back’ from that?

“Heart attacks” usually mean that the persons heart muscle has not had enough oxygen temporarily and if this continues this leads to part of the heart muscle dying.

With heart attacks people usually feel telltale symptoms such as bad pain in the chest and arm/jaw, tightness in the chest and having difficulty breathing and being sweaty.

With a silent heart attack the persons heart has not had enough oxygen and died but without the normal signs. Sometimes they will have a pain that feels different such as indigestion or pain in the back but it might not feel like a normal “heart attack” pain.

The persons heart will still be sick and hurt afterwards it’s just much harder to tell that they’ve had/ are having a heart attack. Sometimes it won’t even be obvious on a heart rhythm monitor or blood tests.

Nerves that carry pain signals often cover more than one place and sometimes this means you can feel pain in a place that seems unrelated to the place that is injured. This is called “Referred pain” and can often make it difficult to tell what is causing the problem. Pain can also sometimes be experienced differently by different people.
