1. Well-trained and well-equipped militaries. The German Army in WWI was probably the best army fielded in the 20th century. Especially once you consider what they managed to do, given who they were up against and who their allies were.
2. Typically German railroad and road infrastructure allowed them to get materiel and men from where they were to where they were needed efficiently.
3. Germans are great at logistics.
4. They had time to prepare, so they were supplied up to a point.
5. Shock and awe – the other nations weren’t as well prepared for the attack.
6. Germany has huge industrial might. Even in present-day, they’re the engine of Europe.
