Tv and movies show them as a magical heart restart machine, bringing people back from the dead. But I’ve heard medical professionals say that’s not true, but they never elaborate. I’ve seen portable ones everywhere, so they must be needed fairly regularly.
Good information here. I just want to add that everyone should learn how to do CPR properly and effectively. Hands on chest early can save a life till we get there!

Long story short, they are like rebooting your computer after a crash. Sometimes that’s all it takes, sometimes its not. It is considered a temporary fix until doctors get involved with drugs or surgery.

Try Reanimation Inc.
Great game. Very realistic explanations and you get to play with many medical things, including a defibrillator, drugs for the heart, CPR and everything on human patients.
Also: 😺, no, you don’t cure them but the dev seems to like them for some reason xD
