I have trouble with ear wax build up in my left ear. I can’t feel it but I know it’s there because it affects my hearing. And it doesn’t just wash out with water, the wax can become very thick and even become almost solid if it’s in there for too long so it doesn’t dissolve away. Using a cotton swab also doesn’t help because it just tends to pack it down more tightly.
Occasionally I have had to go to a doctor to have my ear flushed out. They use a thing that’s sort of like a big syringe which forces water out under enough pressure to break up the blockage.
Genetics has a lot to do with it. Some people earwax develops hardness to it instead of being soft and gooey and easy to self clean out. It gathers in the ear obstructing the canal and eventually needs a medical professional to clean out. Most people’s earwax is soft to washes out on its own or if you dare to, qtip out
Some people are so unaware of themselves/their own bodies, you’d be surprised
I dated a guy whose teenager told me that his mom told him that he never needed to clean his ears because it drains out on its own. The kid and his brother from the same mother, always had ear infections, always had brown ear wax dropping in clumps around their ear holes and still NEVER cleaned them unless I’dsay something or make him let me clean it myself for him🤮
