It’s been years but for ionic solutions you specify the charge of the ion, like Iodine(V) oxide (it’s the charge of the iodine here), and you can infer the correct ratio from that. you can do the same by knowing the number of Os here, hence iodine pentoxide. Here you need two iodine to match the charge of 5 oxides
