I know ideology is related to politics, but i find people use it in everyday language, and i want to know if they mean mindset/mentality instead. What’s the difference please?

Ideologies are systems of beliefs, usually shared among a group of people, that are applied in all aspects of life. A mindset or mentality is more of a general attitude. For example, New Deal Liberalism or Modern Conservatism are ideologies, while having a positive attitude is a mindset.
