this is pretty interesting, although some academic papers concludes that there are insufficient data to support this notion.
but the logic behind this does make sense though. in semen from ejaculation contains chemical known as prostaglandin (PG).
Effect of PG generally towards uterus & cervix is clear; stimulates uterine contraction, & ripening of the cervix to open (it is dose-dependent). this PG is produced by the mother too.
Infact tablet containing this PG might be used in medically-induced abortion, & to induce labor for post-term (prolonged pregnancy outside of estimated due-date), by inserting the tablet next to the cervix.
probably the PG concentration in semen is too low to have any significant effects toward the uterus & cervix.
