If sharks have such a keen smell for blood, why can’t they detect our blood through our skin?

Sharks have some of the best noses in the world…if police use animals that can detect a small substance wrapped in countless layers of Saran Wrap or whatever, why can’t a shark detect any of the liters of blood in our body through our skin/pores/orifices?

I highly doubt that sharks could detect meat/blood that’s securely wrapped in plastic unless there was residue on the outside on the package.

As for humans, we’re specifically built like blood bags. Aside from being healthy to just not leak blood everywhere, openings where blood can get out are also places where bacteria can get in. So it’s super important to our bodies that blood isn’t exposed to the environment/atmosphere if at all avoidable.
