If slot machines are random numbers, how can they be programmed to win a certain number of times? How can something be both random and programmed?

Hot tip. They aren’t random.
This is a general software question really. You can program anything to give any result you want. If it’s been too many rolls since a win it may increase the odds. If it just won recently it may give a sudo random roll but ensure it isn’t a jackpot
