When it is hot and dry outside, it is usually bearable, if not comfortable. Warmth of the sun on your skin generally feels good.

Hot and humid is what is usually uncomfortable. This is because the moisture in the air and stickiness of your sweat and skin oils stay on you.

A shower feels good because the water is moving and the oils are washing off you. A hot bath feels good because the oils are also lifting off your skin.
