If the CMB is in all of space, how does the Earth not get cooked in it?

It does. The Earth gets positively blasted by the CMB from all directions.

Compared to what we get from the Sun, it’s very little energy.

It’s also very little compared to what we get from nearby stars actually.

But I’m sure it contributes to global warming by at least one millionth of a percent point. Not nothing.
