If there is no sound in space does that mean stars are silent?

I did Google this a bit and understand that sounds needs a medium to travel.

So if we could hypothetically stand in the surface of the sun would we hear nothing?

If two asteroids collided would it be completely silent?

It’s not that there’s no sound in space.. it’s that the sound waves have no medium to transfer and travel to your ears
