If we share 50% of our DNA with Bananas, can Bananas get cancer?

I thought this would make sense, but I don’t understand it.

Almost every living thing can get some form of “cancer” since it’s such a broad term. Basically, if a lifeform creates new cells it’s possible that they create the incorrect new cells, which is one simplistic form of what cancer is.

Even sharks, whom we had thought can’t get cancer, are able to. That’s billions of years of evolution and they’re still subject to a single cell having a problem and replicating.

While everything can get cancer, fruit probably doesn’t. A big factor on whether something gets cancer or not is life span. And bananas are only around for a few weeks or so.
