Yes. As long as a dendritic cell gets its hands on some bits and pieces of virus (or other pathogen) and makes it to a lymph node to present those to T & B cells, you’ll get an adaptive immune response + memory.

If you are infected with the flu, you will build immunity. This is part of the idea behind many vaccines.
