There is a misconception that ADHD goes away with age. What is actually happening is some people learn to suppress their symptoms (they still have them they just make it seem like they don’t so that they aren’t seen as abnormal) and also adult ADHD symptoms show themselves differently between adults and kids. For example: kids might show impulsivity through talking excessively, adults might show it through infidelity. Of course this an extreme example for adults, but it shows how it differs from ADHD in childhood.
Also, while a lack of awareness of time and memory gaps are common in people with ADHD, that is not the same as someone just going “man I can’t believe my kid is already five. Time flies”.
