How do people who survived polio but require an iron lung live as long as they do?
We always hear how important exercise is, but they cannot and still live well into their 80s?

My grandma was in an iron lung for about 3 months. She died in her 60s from cancer but had significant issues with post polio that caused her to retire and be wheelchair bound in her 40s.
