Is is possible to calculate a stars density with its spectrum? If so, how?

Physicist here but I am not an astro one.

We can use the spectrum of a star to classify it. We know that the stars belonging to the same category have more or less the same properties, we can therefore have an estimate of the density based on the data of the other stars of the group.

That is only an approximation and even measuring it by dividing its mass by its volume will only give an average density because the mass of a star is not distributed evenly within its volume
