is is possible to make captured carbon back into a useful solid form?

For many years now I have wondered why we aren’t able to turn the air captured carbon into useful things like carbon fiber or carbon nanotube batteries. surely there must be some way of doing this through the magic of chemistry.

we can though.

Ultimately the most useful product we make from carbon that is recaptured from the air is not made by us at all. It is all the plant material that is made. All of the carbon in every plant came directly from the air.

And we make a lot of other carbon products out of the carbon that came from plants. And the main reason we don’t compete with those plans directly is because they are much better at it than we are. Even with all of our current science they are doing it far more efficiently.

A short ELI5 answer is that we are capable of doing it but it takes a lot of energy so it is not worth it.

Yes but no. We can but save Earth need many expensive energy. It cheaper to pollute planet to make big profit for 1% so they can watch us die for entertainment.

Yes, by growing crops and trees, we can capture carbon and make food and wood. Or algae farms can produce fish feed, or the algae can be processed in oil for many different applications. As for chemical based carbon capturing, that can be made into useful stuff as well, but the problem always comes down to the cost to do it.
