No, it’s not a coincidence. The 360 degrees in a circle comes from the ancient Babylonians. They designated a circle to have 360 degrees to match their calendar, which had 12 months of 30 days (or 360 days) in a year.

technically, there are 365.25 days in a year. this is why every 4 years we have feb 29.

you’ll find most things in life are coincidental. the human mind will look for patterns in everything. that is why you might see a relation to the degrees in a circle to the number of days in a year, but the two have nothing to do with each other.

Yes. It’s coincidence. 1 degree is about the smallest angle of misalignment that we can see with the naked eye. I forget which ancient civilization it was, but one of the ones that used the hexadecimal system of numbers, in which 360 is a nice number. It’s kinda like how we made the metric system based on 1000’s.

If we wanted it to match, there would be 365 degrees in a circle. There have been much weirder measurements…like the mile having 5280 feet for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Complete coincidence. Apart from anything else, the earth’s orbit isn’t a circle….
From a maths viewpoint, 360 degrees for a circle works well since it’s easily divisible by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 12, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60…….But that doesn’t define a circle, which is 2PI RAD

It’s a coincidence.

Earth could be in the same orbit around the Sun and rotate much faster or slower. That means that it would still take the same amount of time for one orbit, but a different number of days [Think water boiling at 212 F or 100 C]
