is snoozing good for you?

Good morning!

I’m usually not a big snoozer. Most mornings I am able to get out of bed after just snoozing once or twice.

This morning I thought I’d give myself a treat; i snoozed a whole hour before getting up.

Will I be more rested today than usual? Or is the sleep I’m getting between the snoozes (about 5-9 minutes) so light that it makes no difference for my body?

Unfortunately – it depends

Different people require different amounts of sleep. Some find snoozing to be beneficial, while for others, it’s problematic

Some people love a 3pm nap, others find it messes with their nighttime sleep or they feel worse after.

Personally I’ve gone from having 8hrs sleep a night and never needing to snooze it nap, down to 6hrs now im over 50 and fine I’ll have an afternoon nap for an hour or so 3 days a week

Generally speaking, no, it isn’t.
First of all, the tiny bit of shut eye you get between snoozes will not put you back into a deep sleep, so you get none of the benefits. All you do is waste your time. I suggest learning more about getting better quality sleep so you don’t feel the need to snooze.
