Is there any point to ‘cleaning’ a MAJORLY insect infested house, or does there come a point where the only option left is to burn it down?

Depends on the damage done by the infestation.

If the house becomes uninhabitable due the infestation and is beyond repair, then condemning and demolishing the building would be the only option, thought it would likely be gassed or undergo a controlled burn to ensure that the infesting creatures don’t just go somewhere else.

Depends on the type of insects and types of building material used. If there is too much structural damage, the house can certainly be beyond saving. (That being said, *burning* *it down* isn’t the best way of demolishing it.)

Definitely better to at least TRY cleaning it. Tenting and bug bombs are effective. However… if the “insect” infestation is termites – depending on the nature of the infestation – it might be better to demolish and start over. This can also depend on the type of construction.

There are definitely ways to clean it and economically will almost always be more affordable than demolishing the house and rebuilding.

Its not always an easy job but it can be done.

At worst you can seal the house and fill it with insecticides to flood the whole house to kill everything in it.

Can you do a bug bomb? What’s it infested with and how long has that been going?
