How ~2,000 different companies can place legitimate interest cookies to read a single post in an online journal like ‘fhe hockey news’?
For bonus points, assuming they are not truely legitimate, what I can do so I don’t need to manually deselect them all one by one.

Bonus question: what’s the best browser + extension that would say no to everything, including LI’s, and make those pop-ups completely disappear?
They aren’t legitimate, just a knowingly wrong interpretation of “legitimate interest.” As for what you can do I’d advise disabling third party cookies and installing something like ublock origin to further block adds, trackers etc.
