What are you asking about them specifically?

Okay, so there are a bunch of different things the bacteria in your gut do:

They break down what you eat into particles that you can digest yourself

They produce micronutrients that you need (like vitamins)

They contribute to faecal bulking (which means they make your poop bigger. Without a healthy guy biome, your poop is either really watery, or rock hard.)

They protect you from “bad” bacteria by taking up space, so there’s nowhere for “bad”, pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria to latch onto and start multiplying

They stimulate your immune system in a healthy way

These are the basic topics you should focus on when you’re researching for your project.
