My tongue doesn’t work well after eating a cup of ice?

I’ve noticed recently that after eating a cup of ice, and my tongue becomes very cold, it doesn’ want to work. It hard to move and my speech is slightly slurred. After it warms up, it goes back to normal..

You’ve decreased blood-flow to your tongue and numbed some of the nerves.

It’s no different than sticking your hand in a bowl of ice water for a couple of minutes. When you pull it out you won’t be able to move your hand very well, and you won’t be able to feel much, but it will return to normal once it warms back up.
