People tend to over eat dishes like pizza. But the real reason is that the amount of cheese is pretty high. Cheese has a lot of calories and the cheeses used tend to have a lot of saturated fat.

Additionally, meats often used on pizza are fatty and processed.

So it’s taking fat heavy food items with a lot of calories and combining them into one meal.

Pizza is unhealthy because it is freaking delicious!

A few slices as part of a balanced diet would be healthy. But eating a full pepperoni pizza by itself is not going to be healthy.

Cheese in particular is a very calorie dense food and needs to be consumed in moderation.

A lot of pizzas don’t have “real” cheese, it’s a mix between cheese and hydrogenated fats. Some doughs have too much sugar too, same for sauces.
A traditional pizza( dough made with just water, flour, yeast and salt) with good quality cheese and sauce is probably healthy as long as you don’t eat too much
