Why are trees still being used for telephone/electric lines instead of plastics?

Oh my no. Most plastic is made from oil. It’s a non-renewable resource. Humanity needs to make FEWER things out of plastic, not more.
Wood is a sturdy & renewable resource. Growing trees for use in construction takes CO2 out of the air.
