Samsung s20 dual sim… how does it work?

I currently have a personal and a work phone, ideally I’d like to put both sims into the one device.

I’ve scoured the Internet jn an attempt to find videos or the answer, but how does it actually work? Are both sim cards active at the same time so I can recieve calls, messages etc on both at one?

If anyone has this set up would you be able to explain this to me? Thank you

The first thing to do is to ask you, boss, I would do it by mail or if you talk bout it asks for it in writing. If it is by mail be sure that you have a copy on your own mail or print out a copy because you never know if it get automatically deleted or even intentionally removed if there is some trouble and what to cover their own back if the info is only in their system they have control over it.

If you are self-employed you should ask yourself if it is a good idea. It will depend on what you do with the phone.

Having an independent backup can be a good idea for other staff to like your contract with them, I just read an article where the company lost, it might have been intentional, the agreement they signed with the joining that included a $20,000 signing bonus. In the agreement that they wanted them to sign later the signing bonus was just $10,000. But at the same time lots of work-related information are confidential so do not copy everything.

I do not have a Samsung s20 but I have had two other Android phones with dual sims.

You can put both in at the same time and both connect to the cellular provider simultaneously. You can set up with SIM is used for data, and you can easily change which is used

SMS and phone calls can be received from both, it is not diffrent to if you just have one sim. I am not sure what exactly happens if you use one for a call at the same time there is a common call on the other. It might just be that they get a busy signal or you can see the incoming call and switch.

When you send a SMS or make a call you can select what sim is used. You can set up which is the default option both in general but also set a specific one for each phone number you have in your contacts.

What might be the real problem is not if it technically works but if it is allowed by your company. An app you install for personal usage that has access to your contact book, and call list will have access to your work data too. There could be a risk in access to mail and other work-related data.

A potential drawback if you do this and the boss knows this is that it will be a lot harder just to say you use your work phone during work and turn it off when you are off work. That might be a problem for you or the ability always be able to respond is an integral part of your work.

So two SIMs in a phone work fine, the main question is dot the company allows this.
