Say NASA spend 50 million on a project, where does the money go? I know it stays in the economy but where does it end up.

It gets launched into space…. kidding.
It goes to whoever they paid with it, just like literally any other transaction on the planet. NASA people are paid a wage. The people who build rockets and modules are paid. Supplies have to be bought. Researchers are paid and their experiments sometimes require expensive things.
To the salaries of people working on the projects, and companies manufacturing something they need in the project.
They buy things from other companies, pay people (contractors and employees) who will then buy things from other companies, who will then buy things from other companies or pay their own employees, who will then buy things from other companies, who will then buy things from other companies or pay their own employees. And on and on it goes.
