Sun allergy: How does it work?

Ok so the sun heats my skin for too long and I get little white bumps on my hands. What exactly happens on the surface of my skin? How is it triggered? I need details.

So just to be clear this isn’t really an allergic reaction, this isn’t the immune system incorrectly identifying something as a threat and overreacting. Instead what you’re talking about is “Heat Rash”, something that can happen when sweat is trapped in the skin, causing irritation.

> Miliaria occurs when sweat glands become clogged due to dead skin cells or bacteria such as Staphylococcus epidermidis,[9] a common bacterium that occurs on the skin, which is also associated with acne.

> The trapped sweat leads to irritation (prickling), itching, and a rash of very small blisters, usually in a localized area of the skin.
