Supramolecular chemistry

Please explain supramolecular chemistry – google failed me.

In: Chemistry

It’s chemistry that happens beyond (that’s what “supra” means) the scope of molecules. Therefore, it’s closely related to non-covalent bonds and steric effects, which couple molecules together rather loosely, but still have a huge effect on macro-scale phenomena.

Example topics include protein folding, enzymatic catalysis, molecular machines, or DNA/RNA structure.
