Can you give more context please? Are you referring to body image disorders? I was underweight in high school and it was because my adhd medication was/is an appetite suppressant, and combined with my propensity to forget things I often just didn’t pay attention to my body enough to eat regularly.
Please provide more context if you have a specific question.
There are a lot, but a general theme is a profound and deep seated problem with self image. Not feeling one is fit or thin enough, being bullied about it, having no control in ones own life outside of what one eats, etc can leave lasting impressions on the way you see yourself. It can be so severe that their brains literally see themselves as a fat blob in the mirror, even when they are dangerously thin.
