So, I bet someone will come along with a better answer but I can tell you this.

I learned which moves I have to make to get block a to spot b. I learned an order in which to execute all the moves to complete the bottom, the middle row and the top.

I can only imagine that these recordbreakers know exactly the same moves, sometimes even skipping over moves as that’s way quicker.

Now, the most challenging part is remembering the whole cube in its scrambled state before you execute all the moves in rapid succession to complete the cube. That’s probably mostly just training.

The way to think about solving the cube is sequences of moves with helpful properties. For example, one sequence of moves might move a piece located in a top corner to a particular bottom corner while keeping all other faces unchanged. By memorizing these sequences of moves, you can move the pieces around the cube as directly as if you could simply pluck them off and place them where you like.

Of course, some of these sequences are very long and complicated. You can reliably solve the cube but may do so slowly. The fun in advanced solving is learning faster sequences that might change multiple faces at once. The most talented speed solvers can quickly recognize the utility of these sequences when inspecting the cube, then have the dexterity to execute them quickly and accurately.

For solving the Rubik’s cubw, you only have to remember a handful of patterns, and how to solve them. These are quite simple, a few steps, which you can master.

First hey solve one side (usually the white), then the next row (and if you memorized the harder patterns, you do these at the same time). Now you only have one side to solve. For this, you have to turn all the elements good face up, and put it in place, this is the two steps which usually takes a longer time. If someone got lucky, and doesn’t have to solve one step (like after turn up all the color good face up, then they are at the place they should be, aka solved), then it is usually marked somewhere in their time.

If you want to learn it,there are a few tutorials online, i think with 8 different pattern you can solve a standard 3#3 cube
