So, I bet someone will come along with a better answer but I can tell you this.
I learned which moves I have to make to get block a to spot b. I learned an order in which to execute all the moves to complete the bottom, the middle row and the top.
I can only imagine that these recordbreakers know exactly the same moves, sometimes even skipping over moves as that’s way quicker.
Now, the most challenging part is remembering the whole cube in its scrambled state before you execute all the moves in rapid succession to complete the cube. That’s probably mostly just training.
