There are several issues we are working on but we are far from a prototype. In order to make a computer it must be able to compute things. That means logic gates which can follow the basic logic required for computations. We can do this with switch relays, amplifier valves or transistors. But when the inputs and outputs are light we need something new. There are a number of proposed solutions. But they are all expensive, large, slow, and hard to manufacture.
