They say that empaths are more sensitive, not just emotionally but physically. What is the correlation between feelings (emotions) and feeling (nerve endings)?

There is a correlation.
For example, when you feel extreme sadness, you may experience intense heartache. Not because your heart is malfunctioning, but because of the sadness. This phenomenon, how emotional pain effect physical pain, is, to my knlowledge, still being studied.
