To where do multinational corporations pay their income taxes to?

If for example, an MNC gets revenue from a client who is a citizen of a particular country, does that mean the MNC have to pay tax on that share of income to that particular country? Or can an MNC pick and choose which country they have operations in to pay taxes to?

I read an article on how Amazon dodges most taxes. they depend on complex software to run their company, track inventory, track shipments, track employees.

So they contract another company to provide this software. They charge Amazon about 10% of gross sales which is about what their profit is.

They are incorporated in a carribean island with no income taxes. Oddly they are owned by Amazon
