Why is everyone so hung up on your total points scored in fantasy football? You only have to outscore 1 team each week. If you don’t do that enough, you don’t make the playoffs. What am I missing?

Why are they hung up on total points scored? because that’s the true value of the team you’re putting out each week. Who cares if your 88 beat an 85, if someone is out there scoring 120 per week, they deserve the playoff spot over someone who is just barely beating people. I can’t imagine a world, where someone would say I’d like 120, but I only need 88 to beat this team, so I’m gonna play these lesser players this week because I can. Overall win/loss should obviously be king, but TPS should definitely be one of the tie breakers to be used for playoff scenarios.
