Why is everyone so hung up on your total points scored in fantasy football? You only have to outscore 1 team each week. If you don’t do that enough, you don’t make the playoffs. What am I missing?

Like others have said, different rules for different leagues. I’ve been in leagues that pay out a bonus weekly for the most points scored. Been in others where most points scored in a season had a bonus as well. Technically, yes, to win the week you only need to beat your opponent but, other leagues make it more competitive by applying other scoring rules to the mix.
