URGENT QUESTION! why does a parallel circuit wear down batteries faster?

Let’s say you use a 1,5v battery.

If you put 3 lamps in serie, the voltage drop will be 0,5 per lamp (the force to push the electron through the lamp). Let’s say only X electrons per second can go through. And these are the same electrons that power the next lamps. All lamps do shine quite dim and the flow of electrons is X.

Same battery, same lamps, but in parallel. Each lamp has 1,5 volts drop, per lamp. Each lamp will be crossed by 3 times X electrons because there’s 3 times more force pushing them compared to the previous circuit. You also have 3 branches with a lamp so the total will be 3+3+3 times X electrons per second.

Result is you have 3 lamps shining brighter and the total electron flow is 9X. Battery lasts 9 times less. When I was a kid they made us built that thing in classroom, each person builds one. It’s very very good to print in your brain how it looks to do different circuits. Using the same lamps makes easy to see the concept of Amperes, more Amperes going through, the brighter is the light.
