Vitamin d and calcium absorption.

If the body has a good calcium serum that’s within range but the vitamin d still remains low, could this from the body taking the vitamin d that’s being ingested and using to absorb calcium if the calcium levels were previously lower?

Context: I have been taking vitamin d supplements on top of a multivitamin with vitamin d for over a year and my vitamin d is still low. Its only moved up 1 point. So I’m wondering if my body has just been using what I’m taking into increase calcium?

Typically you want to take vitamin k2 with D3 to help with absorption. Magnesium glycinate can also help with proper absorption and use.
Make sure you’re healthy enough to take and if you’re on any meds check drug interactions! Especially with clotting disorders and the k2
