What is this? I seem to see it sometimes when I squint at a light reflection, It Looks like a circle but with a diagonal line trough it . Thought it might be something related to the eye, but a long time ago I remember being able to take a picture of it by pointing a phone camera to a Christmas light…

Note: I am *not* an eye doctor.
Two things came to mind:
1. An [ocular migraine.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinal_migraine) I’ve had a few in a my life, but my wife gets them much more frequently. If you actually took a *picture* of the event, then it wasn’t this because it is *neural* in nature.
1. Maybe [astigmatism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astigmatism). This feels closer.
If this persists, you really should see an optometrist, who may send you to an ophthalmologist. Good luck!
