What are scientists inputting into a quantum computer and what are they getting out of it? I don’t understand what it’s ‘calculating’?

Right now pretty much only math goes in or out.

It works by getting more math done per math problem. Like, for every math problem you do, you instantly finish a lot more than one math problem instead.

For some reason you needed three million dollars and 7 extra bedrooms to do that. Also you need to turn in your homework much further away than you used to. And only three people can read the language you wrote your answers in.

It will be crazy amazing at some point, just don’t worry about it until most of these kinks are worked out. Earn a comp sci degree then throw out most of what you know trying to chase the quantum dragon to learn more.
