what are the benefits of inverse lenses on sunglasses?

I keep getting ads for sunglasses with inverse lenses (curving inwards instead of outwards). The marketing is not very clear about the benefits, if any.

This is the first I’ve heard of it, so I looked up “sunglasses with inverted lenses” and found that Ray-Ban has started making some glasses like this.

As far as I can tell, at least on Ray-Ban’s part, it’s a purely aesthetic choice.

I.e.:

Prescription lense either have a roughly 👁️`)(` shape or a 👁️`()` shape for vision correction… and nonprescription sunglasses tend to have either 👁️`||` or 👁️`))` shaped lenses which don’t bestow any correction… whereas these new sunglasses have a 👁️`((` shape to create an interesting new style – again, with no correction.
