This is the first I’ve heard of it, so I looked up “sunglasses with inverted lenses” and found that Ray-Ban has started making some glasses like this.
As far as I can tell, at least on Ray-Ban’s part, it’s a purely aesthetic choice.
I.e.:
Prescription lense either have a roughly 👁️`)(` shape or a 👁️`()` shape for vision correction… and nonprescription sunglasses tend to have either 👁️`||` or 👁️`))` shaped lenses which don’t bestow any correction… whereas these new sunglasses have a 👁️`((` shape to create an interesting new style – again, with no correction.
