FIA is the international motorsport association.
They have a number of different racing championships where people race each other based on a common formulation of rules Formula One is the most famous of those but there are many others.
The right to commercialize the F1 races for TV etc used to be owned by the Formula One Group. Liberty Media bought that company a few years back.
