What are the little lines on skin?

If I look at the back of my hand and look closely, there are little lines that create triangular shapes on my skin. It’s not the veins. Why are they like that?

Skin has to be elastic in order to stretch as you move. You’re more likely to see those lines on joints or areas that move a lot (like your hand and face). It’s just the excess skin stretching to accommodate movement.
