What do consultants do? I seriously don’t understand what they are especially since you can be a consultant in a completely different field than another consultant? What are you actually doing?

For example, you might be running a business, which involves multiple facets such as accounting. However, you or your staff might not have the knowledge or skills to implement a more effective way to manage your finances, so you would hire a consultant to evaluate your situation and propose viable solutions.
