If a box gets full we’re to assume the house is vacant. For safety and security of mail, we collect everything, leave notice, hold for 10 days, return to sender. Then those people (who also complain about their mail being crammed, crushed, torn) throw a fit because they don’t think we can tell them what to do.

Fun fact: when it comes to mail, yes we can. If you’re gonna be away for an extended period, you should request that your mail be held.

Mail Carrier here – Typically, I’ll pull the mail out of the box & bring it back to the station if its TOOOO full. Most carriers (should) have cards in the truck to let you know you need to come to the PO & pick up your mail. At that point you have about a week to come retrieve that mail.

I try to give the benefit of the doubt & determine if I can fit your mail in tho.

We have a community mailbox with two package boxes. If it will not fit in the regular mail slot, they’ll put it in the package box. If it’s too big for that or the boxes are full, they’ll leave it at my front door. Sometimes if it almost but doesn’t quite fit in the regular mail box, they’ll shove that fucker in there to the point where I can barely manage to pry it out.

If you are my mailman then you bend the item that say “DO NOT BEND” so you can jam it inside the mailbox. If the item does not bend then he audibly sighs and walks up to my doorway to knock and deliver lol
